Dr. Doyle-Rubcich offers the following services:

Individualized services are available for students with academic concerns, learning disabilities, or attention deficit disorders. Academic services can help to improve a child’s academic success by teaching specific organizational skills, study skills, and specific learning techniques. Children and Adolescents who struggle academically may develop low self-esteem, low motivation, or behavioral problems. Academic assistance can help to improve grades, self-esteem, and motivation.
Readiness- Success in school is measured in terms of a child’s progress in academic areas. Success is also dependent on a child’s progress within developmental domains. Areas of executive functioning skills allow a child to focus, manage feelings and behaviors, problem solve, follow multi step instructions, plan and reflect. An evaluation of your child’s cognitive skills, motor development, social development, and emotional development will help to determine if your child is ready for school and what strategies may help your child succeed in school.

Giftedness- An evaluation will be conducted to assess your child’s cognitive skills and academic achievement in order to determine if your child is gifted. Recommendations will be given to support your child academically.

Behavioral difficulties in children are known to affect academic learning in the classroom as well as affect relationships with peers and family members. A functional behavior assessment identifies and describes the challenging behavior and what reinforces the behavior. A behavior plan is developed for the classroom or home environment that identifies strategies to help reduce challenging behaviors and increase more appropriate positive behaviors.
Children and adolescents with learning differences or special needs may be eligible for individualized education plans (IEPs) or 504 plans (i.e., accommodations) at school. An evaluation can help to determine if your child may benefit from these services.

Individual therapy is a form of psychological treatment that helps children and adolescents to resolve emotional or behavioral challenges and to improve their ability to cope with these difficulties in their lives. Short-term therapy is used to help children develop coping skills to help with a variety of issues some of which include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and social skills as related to their academic learning processes. Focus is placed on resolving issues and learning new strategies that can be applied to future challenges. The goal is for your child to be well adjusted and successful in the home and school environments.
ADHD coaching helps individuals with ADHD to develop the structures, processes, and practical approaches necessary to meet the challenges of everyday life and to excel. Dr. Doyle-Rubcich shares research-based information regarding aspects of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder relevant to the child’s needs and interests. Coaching is a valuable technique for assisting youth in goal-setting, planning, and monitoring their progress. An organizational system for homework and projects can be developed as well as a study skills plan. Additional information regarding tools, resources, and referrals as needed or requested by the family is available.
Dr. Doyle-Rubcich is available to consult with parents to discuss a variety of issues, such as concerns regarding discipline, behavior, child development, school selection, school adjustment, social skills, and peer relationships.
